Idea of the book is based on the fact that those plants which are extinct in Latvia is possible to see in other countries, and to see them you need to pay and go in other country. So as a result we have price of plants' rarity.
Latvian nature is unique oasis of wild Northern European nature with beautiful forests, fields, rivers and hills.
Forests cover 44.1% of Latvia's territory (by comparison, the "forest land" of Sweden has 54% forests; Finland, 59%; Canada, 27%; Denmark, 10%, China, 10%, Great Britain, 8%). Approximately half of the forests grow in mineral soil, and a fourth of them are moist forests; in most other European countries, the latter have been destroyed. www.li.lv
